Hello winter, and hello citrus! It seems everywhere I look there are glorious citrus recipes of all kinds. From buddah’s hand to tangelo, everything is bright and sunny in the darkest part of our year here in Oregon.
Lately I can’t get enough lemon turmeric tea and I’m still munching on a stray candied orange peel or two (yes, they keep for a long time!)
Here’s a little round up of my top ten favorite citrus recipes!
Lemon Pound Cake
Great to make for a friend in need of a lift.
Lemon Ginger Marmalade with Mint
Perfect on biscuits or as a sauce for chicken or lamb.
Grapefruit and White Wine Spritzer
A fan fav from 2015, and a refreshing drink anytime of year.
Nigella’s Seville Orange Ice Cream
Scoop up some Seville oranges now! They disappear fast. This ice cream is also special because no ice cream maker is required! Thanks Nigella, it’s brilliant!
Mom’s Lemon Bars
Is there anything better? I love (real) lemon bars.
Broiled Grapefruit with Cinnamon (Martha Stewart)
A simple and healthy breakfast on a grey winter morning.
Citrus + Beet Salad
The dressing is so cheery, you’ll forget you are eating a salad. A mix of golden and red beets keeps this salad interesting and a little more mild on the beet flavor.
Greek Yogurt and Lemon Cookies
Some of the best sugar cookies ever! Greek yogurt (or sour cream) gives a little tang and makes for a tender cookie.
Satsuma Marmalade
The Slice of Life show that I blog and design for has an easy variation on this classic spread. Marmalade is one of my favorite things to can.
Heat Wave Sparkler
It may be the middle of winter, but this little cocktail will transport you to the heat waves of summer.
That’s the list, folks! I hope you run out and get your self some citrus! It’s banishes those blahs on the immediate.
